The University Community and the general public are hereby informed that the University will go on recess from Monday, 23rd September, 2024 to Friday, 4th October, 2024, Work will resume fully on Monday, 7th October, 2024.
In order to keep some essential services running, selected staff shall be required to remain at post during the recess. Heads of the Directorate of Finance, Works and Physical Development, the Security Unit and the University Clinic are by this notice required to make provision for selected staff to remain at post. Names of the selected staff should be submitted to the Registrar by close of work on Wednesday, 18th September, 2024.
Any other department that may wish to keep selected staff should contact the Registrar for approval.
Staff are to note that the ten (10) working days partial shutdown shall be set off against their annual leave. In this regard, staff who have already exhausted their annual leave for 2024 may remain at post during the period of recess and inform the Director of Human Resource accordingly.
Keys to all facilities shall be kept at designated security posts on campus and be released to staff, only with the express permission of the Head of Department/Unit.
