The Campus Chapter of HTU Alumni Association hosted its maiden Alumni Breakfast Meeting on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the SRC JCR on the Ho Technical University (HTU) campus. The event was a heartwarming blend of nostalgia and shared aspirations for a brighter future.

Alumni from within and outside the University, along with the University Management, headed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Honyenuga, graced the occasion. Notable alumni attendees included Dr. Cederic Dorkenoo, Director of Academic Affairs at UHAS, Rev. Bright Adonai, CEO of Adonai Estate Ltd, Mr. Akpeloo Grandwill, President of HOTEPUOSA, Mr. Hubert Yevu-Agbi, Assistant Registrar at UHAS, Mr. Simon Mesa Avorgah, Alumni National President, and Mr. Francis Ganyaglo, Alumni Relations Officer of HTU.

Ms. Juliet Nugble, Chairperson of the Campus Chapter Alumni, opened the meeting with a heartfelt welcome, expressing the purpose of the gathering as “reconnecting with our roots and strengthening our bonds for the progress of both the Alumni front and the University.” She called upon HTU alumni worldwide to unite and contribute to the growth and development of their beloved alma mater.

Ms. Juliet Nugble

Highlighting the achievements of the Campus Chapter Alumni, Ms. Nugble shared that since its inauguration in June 2022, the chapter had diligently established essential structures, including the adoption of a constitution. She also praised the Chapter for its generous support of a theatre project at the University Clinic, by donating a double-axle truckload of sand and 70 bags of cement.

Ms. Nugble assured that alumni support would continue to be instrumental in advancing the University’s progress, and congratulated the VC and his team for their renewed mandate.

The Vice-Chancellor on his part, underscored the pivotal role of alumni in shaping the University’s legacy, referring to them as the “Soul of the University.” He commended HTU graduates for their global influence, citing their achievements and contributions that had earned the University international recognition. Prof. Honyenuga stressed that alumni were the University’s ambassadors, carrying its values and ethos worldwide.

Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor passionately urged alumni to give back to the Institution that had nurtured them, emphasising, “Your success is our success.” He called upon the Alumni Relations Office to collaborate with the Alumni Association leadership to revitalize the Association’s presence nationwide.

Mr. Avorgah, the Alumni National President, and Mr. Ganyaglo, the Alumni Relations Officer, assured attendees of their commitment to establishing more chapters of the Alumni Association across the country, starting with the Ho City chapter before the end of 2023.

The event also marked the unveiling of the Constitution of the Campus Chapter Alumni and the inauguration of the Publicity and Welfare Committees of the chapter.
