The newly appointed headmistress of Ho Technical University (HTU) Basic School has expressed her readiness to advance teaching and learning in the basic school, through an integrative approach.
Ms. Jemima Dzifa Gidiglo, who assumed office on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, disclosed this to the Directorate of Public Affairs during a welcome call on the new Head.
Highlighting the impressive academic record of the school, she expressed optimism about the school’s future, “ With the current academic records that we have, I am confident that HTU Basic school will become one of the few most sought-after basic schools in the region because we are doing very well.” She commended the teachers for their unrelenting commitment to the growth of pupils and the wellbeing of the school.
Ms. Gidiglo, stated that, her approach is to encourage learning through innovative teaching methods which will focus on extending learning beyond the classroom. Recognising that many students may lack supervision after school hours, she plans to implement after-school online learning sessions that will provide academic support and guidance.
Alongside her academic goals for HTU Basic School, the Headteacher is dedicated to fostering character development, emphasising values such as respect, humility and politeness. She believes that, cultivating a nurturing environment where these values are taught consistently will help students grow into well-rounded individuals.
As she steps into her new role, the Head Teacher looks forward to working hand in hand with Management to keep promoting the University’s Basic School to realise the overall vision of the University.
Ms. Gidiglo is a professional teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience. She obtained both her degrees – B.Ed. in Ghanaian Languages (Ewe) and Master’s in Mentorship in Education from the University of Education, Winneba.
