The Vice-Chancellor of Ho Technical University (HTU), Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, has led a high level delegation from the University to the 7th Pan African Youth Forum and 2025 Annual Conference of the Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa (ATUPA), being held in Durban, South Africa.
The conference, which started from August 25 to August 29, 2025, is on the theme: ‘Empowering Africa through TVET—Driving Sustainable Development, Youth Empowerment, and Economic Integration in the Era of Industry 4.0.’
The delegation included the Registrar, Dr. Christopher K. Amehoe and Prof. Eli Atatsi, the Dean of International Programmes & Institutional Linkages.
As part of his engagements, the Vice-Chancellor held strategic discussions with the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the host institution, the University of South Africa (UNISA), Prof. Puleng Lenkabula aimed at deepening collaboration between the two institutions. The meeting focused on capacity building, joint research, and innovation, all within the broader framework of the African Union’s vision for higher education and continental development.


In a spirit of partnership and shared progress, Prof. Honyenuga also extended a warm invitation to UNISA to participate in HTU’s upcoming international conference on Food, Agriculture, Technology, and Sustainability (FATAS), scheduled to take place in Ho from 16th to 19th November 2025. The FATAS Conference is expected to convene scholars, industry players, and development partners to explore practical solutions for Africa’s food systems and technological advancement.
This engagement underscores HTU’s commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships across the continent and positioning Ghana as a hub for innovation and academic excellence.
