The Vice-Chancellor of Ho Technical University, Prof. Ben Quarshie Honyenuga, has inaugurated the Ho City Chapter of the HTU Alumni Association in a colourful ceremony at the university’s STAR-C (Old Library).
The event brought together management, faculty and alumni, marking a significant milestone in strengthening alumni engagement and institutional legacy.
In his keynote address, Prof. Honyenuga described the inauguration as a legacy moment and urged alumni to remain proud of their alma mater and contribute actively to its growth. He noted that Ho, being the host city of the university, must have a vibrant alumni chapter that will serve as a pivot for all others across the country and beyond.

He highlighted HTU’s achievements in TVET excellence, sustainability, and academic expansion, and called for support towards the Endowment Fund launch in February 2026 and the university’s 60th anniversary in 2028.
Ms. Juliet Nugble, General Secretary of HTU Alumni Association, on behalf of the National President administered the oath of office and swore in the interim executives of the Ho City Chapter. She reaffirmed the national body’s commitment to strengthening alumni networks nationwide.

Alumni Relations Officer and Acting Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Francis Komla Ganyaglo, said the inauguration of the Ho City Chapter paves the way for other chapters within the Volta Region and beyond. He appealed to all past students of HTU and its antecedent Polytechnic and Technical Institute to come on board to advance the course of their alma mater.

Convener of the Ho City Chapter, Rev. Dr. Bright Adonai, described the launch as a call to action for alumni to foster unity, mentorship, and lasting impact.
The interim executives sworn into office were Francis Kwasi Lanyo as President, Elikem Kofi Gadey as Vice President, Richmond Kwame Dzadey as Public Relations Officer, Gideon Kwasi Seshie as General Secretary, Patience Seyram Avorgah as Finance Officer and Treasurer, and Confidence Dogbatse as Coordinator.

In his inaugural speech, President Francis Kwasi Lanyo pledged to build a vibrant and responsive alumni community, strengthen ties with HTU, and create opportunities for professional growth and collaboration, stressing that the true value of an alumni body lies in its impact, not merely its existence.
Present at the ceremony were the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Mensah, the Ag. Registrar, Dr. Michael Todoko, and other deans & directors of the university, who joined in lending their support to the new chapter.
