The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Honyenuga, has urged the newly elected National Officers of the Technical Universities Teachers Association (TUTAG) to enhance the Association’s professionalism and effectiveness.
He underscored the importance of collaboration between TUTAG and management of technical universities to improve professional standards and address grievances through dialogue rather than legal action.
The Vice-Chancellor made these remarks during a visit by the TUTAG National Executives, led by President Prof. Uriah Silverstone Tetteh, to Ho Technical University (HTU) on Monday, April 8, 2024 . The visit was aimed at engaging with the local chapter and address concerns arising from the recent national elections.
Prof. Tetteh acknowledged HTU’s significance within TUTAG, and expressed regret over disagreements that led to the shifting of hosting the national seat from Ho. He commended HTU management for efforts to defuse tensions and pledged to foster reconciliation within the association.
Accompanied by Mr. Stanley Glate, Chairman of the HTU chapter and his executives, the TUTAG delegation later met with local members to promote unity and dialogue.
