A person seeking appointment as Professor in Ho Technical University must:
i. Have been appointed as Professor in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere.
ii. Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
iii. Have at least twenty-four (24) publications in refereed journals since appointment as a lecturer, at least ten (10) of which should have been published after promotion to Associate Professor.
iv. Must be a member of a recognized and relevant professional body
v. Provide other evidence of research/invention/innovation
vi. Evidence of industry experience
A person seeking appointment as Associate Professor in Ho Technical University must:
i. Have been appointed as Associate Professor in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere.
ii. Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
iii. Have at least sixteen (16) publications in refereed journals since appointment as a Lecturer; at least ten (10) of which should have been published after promotion to Senior Lecturer.
iv. Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage
v. Provide other evidence of research/professional activity/products/ invention.
vi. Evidence of industry experience
A person seeking appointment as Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow in Ho Technical University must:
i. Have been appointed as Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow in the relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere.
ii. Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
iii. Have taught for a minimum of six (6) years as a Lecturer;
iv. Candidate must have at least six (6) publications in refereed journals
v. Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage
vi. Provide other evidence of research/professional activity/ products/invention/innovation.
vii. Evidence of industry experience
A person seeking appointment as a Lecturer/Research Fellow in Ho Technical University must:
i. Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
ii. Have some appreciable industrial experience or skills in Competency Based Training (CBT).
iii. Membership of a recognized professional body
In exceptional cases, the University may engage Assistant Lecturers/Assistant Research Fellows. The Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Research Fellow position is a temporary one for a period of two (2) years and renewable for a further period of two (2) years only; and may terminate unless the applicant registers for and obtains a terminal degree. A person seeking appointment as an Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Research Fellow in Ho Technical University must:
i. Possess a Research Master’s degree in the relevant field of specialization, and
ii. Have some appreciable industrial experience or skills in Competency Based Training (CBT).
Successful candidates will be expected to teach and research and offer any other academic and administrative services to the University and its publics.
A. DEPUTY LIBRARIAN
Qualification and Experience
Applicant(s) must among others:
• possess a minimum of MPhil in library/information Studies or Information Science. PhD in Library Studies or Information Science is preferable. He/she must have served as a Senior Assistant Librarian in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least (6) years;
• hold membership of a Professional Body in Librarianship/Information Science;
• support his/her application with a minimum of ten (10) cumulative publications six (6) of which must have been published in recognized peer reviewed journals after promotion to Senior Assistant Librarian/analogous grade. In addition, other evidence of research and innovation shall be considered.
• be computer literate and conversant with relevant library software applications.
B. SENIOR ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
Qualification and Experience
Applicant(S) must among others:
• possess a minimum of MPhil in library/information Studies or Information Science. PhD in Library Studies or Information Science is preferable. He/She must have served as an Assistant Librarian in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least six (6) years;
• hold membership of a Professional Body in Librarianship/Information Science;
• support his/her application with a minimum of four (4) cumulative publications published in recognized peer reviewed journals after promotion as Assistant Librarian/analogous grade; and
• be computer literate and conversant with relevant library software applications.
C. ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
Qualification and Experience
Applicant(s) must among others:
• possess a minimum of MPhil in library/information Studies or Information Science. PhD in Library Studies or Information Science is preferable. He/She must have served as Junior Assistant Librarian in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least two (2) years;
• hold membership of a Professional Body in Librarianship/Information Science;
• be computer literate and conversant with relevant library software applications.
D. JUNIOR ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
Qualification and Experience
Applicant(s) must among others:
• possess a minimum of MPhil in library/information Studies or Information Science.
• must be a member of a relevant professional body in Ghana.
• be computer literate and be conversant with relevant library software applications.
