A delegation from the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), commissioned by the European Union (EU), visited Ho Technical University (HTU) on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, to conduct a validation assessment under the EU-Ghana Pact for Skills Project’s Employability Stream.
Their visit aimed to evaluate the University’s capacity to host and implement the programme effectively, with a focus on infrastructure, faculty preparedness, industry collaborations, and the ability to equip students with industry-relevant digital skills.
Welcoming the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Honyenuga, expressed appreciation for the opportunity and reaffirmed HTU’s commitment to student-centered learning, industry engagement, and skill development. He highlighted the University’s strong track record in career-focused education, skills training, research, and innovation—aligning seamlessly with the project’s objectives.

Prof. Honyenuga further outlined HTU’s existing laboratories, digital infrastructure, and ongoing research efforts while showcasing innovative student-led projects that promote entrepreneurship and sustainability.
UNCDF Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist, Sangyoung Jung, engaged with University Management, seeking clarity on HTU’s application and its planned execution strategy if selected.
The visit culminated in a guided tour of HTU’s facilities, including laboratories, ICT centers, and workshops, providing the delegation firsthand insight into the institution’s capacity to implement the project.
