The Ho Technical University (HTU) sports contingent at the ongoing Ghana Technical Universities Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games, is making strides having won five medals so far and set for even more victories.
The prestigious games, being hosted by Cape Coast Technical University, started on April 3 and will end on April 13, 2025.
Team HTU has shown resilience and skill across multiple disciplines, bringing home medals in tennis, badminton, and table tennis. So far, medals won by Team HTU includes:
Tennis: 2 Silver medals (Doubles Mixed and Team Event) and 1 Bronze medal (Doubles Men).
Badminton: 1 Bronze medal (Doubles Women).
Table Tennis: 1 Bronze medal (Singles).


However, the journey doesn’t end there. The handball teams are also gearing up for a decisive Saturday. The men’s team has secured a spot in the finals, guaranteeing at least a silver medal, while the women’s team will contest for bronze.
Meanwhile, the men’s 4x100m athletics relay team is preparing for Friday’s final, aiming to sprint to victory.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Honyenuga, who is with the contingent, applauded the team for their achievements so far, urging them to finish hard. He also expressed optimism that the University would surpass its medal tally from the last edition of the games, which took place in Tamale.
