STUDENTS LOAN OFFICIALS ENGAGE HTU STUDENTS ON GOV’T’S ‘NO FEE STRESS’ POLICY

Officials from the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) on Friday, June 13, 2025 engaged first-year students at Ho Technical University (HTU) on the Government’s ‘No Fee Stress’ policy aimed at making tertiary education financially accessible to all.

The policy, which took effect this academic year, guarantees full academic fee coverage for all Level 100 students enrolled at public tertiary institutions. It also offers comprehensive financial support to students with disabilities throughout their studies.

SLTF Deputy CEO Mr. Kojo Dankwah described the initiative as a “national reset,” highlighting that academic potential—rather than financial status—should be the key factor in accessing education. He revealed that over 1,300 HTU students have already applied and urged those who have not yet done so to apply promptly to take advantage of this opportunity.

Mr. Kofi Abil Nkrumah, Head of Disbursement, trained students on the application process and assured that 2025 disbursements will be made directly to students, with future payments going to institutions. To apply, he said eligible students must provide their Ghana Card, admission details, and a passport-sized photo and fill the form on the website of the Students Loan Trust fund.

Representing the Registrar, Dr. Edem Honu, Deputy Registrar, encouraged students to seize the opportunity. “Embrace the initiative and participate fully in the process to lessen the financial burden on your guardians,” he urged, noting the policy’s potential to transform students’ academic journeys.

Also present were students from the Ho School Hygiene.
