The University ushered in the festive season with a heartwarming Christmas Carols Service on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
Organised by the Chaplaincy Board, the event brought together management, faculty, staff, and students at the G.M. Afeti Auditorium to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
The ceremony featured the nine scripture readings, detailing the story of Christ’s birth, interspersed with captivating musical performances from the HTU Choir and various campus singing ministries. The inspiring repertoire of traditional carols and contemporary Christmas songs was well-received by the audience. Representatives from various University departments delivered the Nine Lessons.
The University Cultural Troupe, also added a vibrant touch to the ceremony with a spectacular cultural display.
Rev. Patience Glauh-Jeh, of the Department of Fashion Design & Textiles, delivered a scriptural word of exhortation, emphasizing the significance of Jesus Christ’s birth.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, also addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for the year’s successes and encouraging the community to reflect on the values of love, unity, and generosity that Christmas represents.
The event concluded with a benediction by University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Agbezuge, wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful Christmas celebration.
