HTU SPORTS CONTINGENT GEARS UP FOR 3RD GHATUSA GAMES

The HTU sports contingent is gearing up for the 3rd Ghana Technical Universities Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games to be hosted by the Cape Coast Technical University scheduled to take place from April 3, 2025, to April 13, 2025.

The team, comprising 150 athletes and players, 28 coaches and other supporting officials, will compete in nine sporting disciplines, including football, table tennis, basketball, volleyball and athletics.

Ahead of the competition, the University Management met with the contingent on Friday, March 28, 2025, to motivate and prepare them for the games.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, expressed gratitude to the University’s Sports Unit and coaches for their hard work and dedication. He urged the selected athletes to prove themselves by giving their best performances, embracing sportsmanship, and upholding the values of fair play, discipline, and teamwork.

Prof. Honyenuga assured the contingent that management had put in place an insurance policy and announced winning bonuses for the team and individual athletes who secure gold, silver, or bronze medals.

The Chairman of the Sports Committee, Dr. Kwabena Darko Akuamoah, also assured the contingent that management had taken all necessary steps to ensure their needs are met.

Madam Esther Akwensivie, the University’s Sports Officer, expressed confidence in the team’s preparedness, assuring management and the HTU community that the contingent is poised to annex the various trophies at stake. She assured that the team has undergone rigorous training and is eager to showcase their skills and bring glory to the University.
