Ho Technical University (HTU) has been ranked the 5th best university in Ghana. This is according to the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) Sub-Sahara Africa University Rankings released on November 27, 2024.
The University was ranked 44th out of 129 universities on the continent.
The Times Higher Education Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings evaluates universities across the region using a comprehensive methodology.
The rankings focus on the following five key pillars:
1. Access and Fairness: Evaluating the inclusivity of universities.
2. Teaching Skills: Assessing the quality of teaching and learning.
3. Student Engagement: Measuring how well universities engage with their student body.
4. Knowledge Transfer and Impact: Examining partnerships with industries.
5. Research Productivity and Visibility: Considering the volume, quality, and international reach of academic research.
HTU Excels in Student Engagement
Although HTU’s overall score was 57.7, it achieved an exceptional score of 83.6 in Student Engagement, making it the 1st among Technical University in Ghana and 5th on the continent in this metric.
