HTU PAYS HOMAGE TO TOGBE AFEDE XIV

A delegation from Ho Technical University (HTU) has paid homage to Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, on Friday, October 3, 2025 as part of activities marking the 2025 Yam Festival. The University joined other institutions, religious bodies, and individuals in honouring the revered traditional leader during his sitting in state ceremony held at the forecourt of the Asogli Palace in Ho.

Led by Dr. Michael Todoko, Director of Human Resource, the University’s delegation presented a donation comprising cash, four (4) packs of canned malt, two (2) crates of beer, and two (2) bottles of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky to support the Asogli State in its celebration of the annual festival.

In addition to the day’s donation, HTU had earlier offered its auditorium on two separate occasions to the Asogli State Council for the hosting of festival-related programmes. These acts of goodwill underscore the institution’s partnership with the Asogli State, its dedication to fostering strong traditional ties and the University’s commitment to cultural preservation and community engagement within the Volta Region.

The festival organisers on behalf of the Agbogbomefia, expressed appreciation to all who paid homage and contributed to the celebration, reaffirming the importance of unity and collaboration in sustaining cultural heritage.
