The Nunya Library of Ho Technical University has once again blended learning with leisure as it hosted its Second Chocolate Day Celebration, warmly welcoming freshers into the academic community.
In his welcome address, the Acting Head of the University Library, Mr. Joseph Owusu Kwakye, expressed joy at hosting the event, noting that it was designed not only for fun but also to introduce new students to the vital role of the library in their academic journey. He highlighted the library’s rich collection of electronic resources and databases, encouraging students to use them effectively to enhance their studies, research, and assignments.

“Beyond the fun and celebration, our main emphasis is to give you a general overview of the University Library and how it supports your academic journey,” Mr. Kwakye stated.
The programme also featured an important educational session on examination malpractice. Dr. Mrs. Hannatu Kugblenu-Mahama, Assistant Librarian, used the opportunity to caution students against misconduct, urging them to always prepare adequately for exams and adhere strictly to all rules and regulations. She emphasized that failure to comply could lead to severe consequences, including rustication or dismissal.

Mr. Kwakye further expressed gratitude to the library team, university management, and supporting departments for their contributions to the success of the programme.
The celebration was interactive and engaging, with students enjoying chocolate treats while building connections with peers and staff.
The event underscored the library’s commitment to making learning engaging, enjoyable, and memorable, while instilling values of academic integrity.
