HTU HOSTS SIFA’S NEW COUNTRY COORDINATOR, STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP

Ho Technical University (HTU) has warmly welcomed Madam Dzigbordi, the newly appointed Country Coordinator for the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) Project. She was accompanied by Ms. Joyce Takyi, CTVET’s Focal Person for the initiative.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Madam Dzigbordi engaged with HTU’s Management and project team during her maiden visit to discuss progress on the establishment of a state-of-the-art biomedical engineering lab in the University.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Honyenuga officially welcomed her to HTU and congratulated her on her appointment. He assured her of a cordial and productive working relationship as the University collaborates with SIFA to advance technical education.

The VC also provided an update on the project’s progress, including preparations for the arrival of cutting-edge equipment from German firm Lucas Nulle, currently en route. He highlighted ongoing efforts to secure government duty waivers for the shipment upon its arrival at the ports.

He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to the project, expressing optimism about its potential to transform technical education and strengthen HTU’s role in advancing biomedical engineering expertise.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the facility designated to house the biomedical engineering lab, offering firsthand insight into preparations for its setup.

The initiative is designed to enhance the University’s capacity to deliver high-quality education and training in biomedical engineering, equipping students with industry-relevant skills and fostering innovation in the field.
