Ho Technical University (HTU), in partnership with the Supply Application School of the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), has held the 6th Graduation Ceremony for 164 personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces at Nutekpor.
The colourful event, held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, and attended by senior naval officers, University Management including Registrar Dr. Christopher Amehoe, faculty, staff and families, underscored the growing collaboration between academia and the military in advancing professional excellence.

Vice-Chancellor of HTU, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, in his keynote address, congratulated the graduates for their resilience in combining naval duties with academic pursuits. He said their achievement reflects discipline, sacrifice and lifelong learning, adding that academic excellence and military discipline are complementary strengths. “You have excelled in your studies and cultivated practical skills necessary to thrive in your chosen fields. Today you stand as shining examples of what dedication can accomplish,” he stated.
The 164 graduates were drawn from various academic programmes, including Diploma in Procurement and Supply with 23, Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply with 26, Certificate in Procurement and Supply with 30, Diploma in Hospitality Operations with 25, Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Operations with 12, Certificate in Hospitality Operations with 19, and Diploma in Secretaryship & Management Studies with 29.

Prof. Honyenuga further highlighted HTU’s recent laurels, including recognition as Best Technical University in Ghana in the 2025 Times Higher Education World Rankings and EduRank, and No. 1 University in Ghana, 2nd in West Africa, in the Green Metric World University Rankings. He cited student victories in national competitions such as the USAPEEC National Chicken Cooking Contest and the Joy Prime Big Chef Tertiary Cooking Competition, as well as the University’s award for Tourism Programme Development of the Year at the 2025 National Tourism Awards.

On his part, Commodore James Adongo Agambire, Flag Officer Commanding NAVTRAC, described the ceremony as a milestone in civil-military relations. He commended HTU for aligning academic programmes with naval operational needs, noting that the partnership has evolved into a model of cooperation producing well-rounded personnel who combine academic rigour with military discipline.
He urged the graduates to apply their knowledge in their respective units, stressing that the true value of education lies in solutions, efficiencies and leadership demonstrated in service.


The ceremony ended with resounding congratulations to the graduates, who were celebrated as torchbearers of excellence in academia and military service. Deserving students were honoured for their outstanding performance during the training.
