HTU, DTI STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP TO ENHANCE TVET LIVELIHOOD

Ho Technical University (HTU) and the Design and Technology Institute (DTI) have strengthened their partnership to enhance Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) livelihoods in the Volta Region.

At a meeting on Tuesday, January 14, the two institutions discussed the introduction of Phase 2 of the Transforming Youth TVET Livelihoods project, building on their existing partnership which has successfully implemented the Precision Quality Curriculum since 2021.

Prof. Christopher Mensah, Pro Vice-Chancellor of HTU, stated, “The Precision Quality training has had a transformative impact on our students and faculty, equipping them with industry-relevant skills. We’re excited to take this partnership to the next level.”

Ms. Constance Swaniker, Founder and CEO of DTI, noted, “Phase 2 will focus on ensuring students are placed in the right internships, maximizing the benefits of their experiences, and providing additional training to adapt to evolving industry demands.”

The partnership will also establish a Precision Quality Centre of Excellence on the HTU campus, providing access to modern equipment, expert-led workshops, and real-world learning opportunities. The centre will support the rollout of the Precision Internship Programme, targeting youth in the Volta Region.
