A delegation from the Directorate of Planning and Quality Assurance (DPQA) of Ho Technical University (HTU) has embarked on a five-day exchange visit to the Quality Assurance and Planning Office (QAPO) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.
The visit, which began on August 25, 2025, and will end on August 29, 2025, aims to strengthen quality assurance and higher education management.
The HTU team, led by Dr. Edward Kwame Ayimey, Director of Planning and Quality Assurance, includes Ms. Oyeba Nkunu Akyea, Planning Officer; Ing. Francis Ampiaw, Ag. Quality Assurance Officer; and Assistant Planning & Quality Assurance Officers Mrs. Antoinette Tagoe, Mr. Seshie Christian Bonuedi, and Mr. Simon Whoknows Tunu.
During the visit, the team will learn from KNUST’s experiences and explore ways to improve processes at HTU. Dr. Ayimey expressed his team’s eagerness to learn from KNUST’s expertise, particularly in TVET academic programmes. “As a growing university, we feel we should learn from KNUST because you are a giant, especially when it comes to TVET academic programmes,” he said.
Mr. Abraham Adusei, Head of KNUST’s Institutional Planning Department, who together with his staff received the HTU team underscored the importance of continuous improvement in quality assurance in higher education, and expressed his outfit’s readiness to share notes with the HTU counterpart.
The exchange visit is expected to enhance the capacity of HTU’s DPQA and promote collaboration between the two institutions in quality assurance and higher education management.
