HTU Clinic Records First Triplet Delivery

The Ho Technical University (HTU) Clinic on Sunday, March 1, 2026, recorded a major milestone with the successful delivery of its first set of triplets since its establishment.

Management of the University, led by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, visited the maternity ward to congratulate the mother and commend the medical team for the feat.

The mother of the newborn triplets, Ms. Fortune Akaolisa, expressed excitement and heartfelt gratitude to the medical team for their dedicated care and professionalism throughout her pregnancy and delivery. She recounted how the staff consistently provided timely medical guidance, and ensured her comfort at every stage. Ms. Akaolisa said she felt deeply supported not only medically but emotionally, and was impressed with the clinic’s facilities and the attentiveness of the midwives. She described the safe arrival of her babies as a blessing and praised the team for exceeding her expectations with the quality of service provided.

He noted that the clinic’s improved facilities and the competence of the medical team made the successful outcome possible. He also thanked management for its continuous support, which has strengthened service delivery.

Ms. Susan Esenam Sitor, a Principal Nursing Officer at the Clinic who assisted in the delivery, described the process as smooth and well‑managed, which was made possible by the facility’s improved resources and the strong teamwork of the medical staff.

Presenting to the mother of the triplets, gifts for a good job done, Prof. Honyenuga, on behalf of Management and the University community, congratulated the mother for what he described as a “good fight”. He again praised the medical team for their diligence as he recalled the modest beginnings of the Clinic and said it was gratifying to see the progress made to the point where such a complex delivery could be handled internally.

He expressed appreciation to the Medical Director and midwives for their dedication and appealed to the Ghana Health Service for additional support in the areas of doctors, nurses, and midwives to further enhance service delivery and contribute to national development.
