Ho Technical University has announced the appointment of Dr. Michael Tonneey Kwaku Todoko as Acting Registrar, following a decision by the University Council at its 120th Regular Meeting held on Friday, 27th March 2026.
The appointment, which takes effect from Monday, 30th March 2026, was made upon the recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor which is in accordance with the provisions of the University Statutes.
His appointment comes at a time when the tenure of the substantive Registrar, Dr. C.K. Amehoe, officially ended on Friday, 27th March 2026 necessitating a seamless transition to sustain the University’s administrative functions.
In line with Statute 17 (18), which mandates Council to appoint an Acting Registrar from among the Deputy Registrars in the event of a vacancy, Council unanimously approved Dr. Todoko’s appointment to ensure continuity, stability, and efficiency in the University’s governance structure. Dr. Todoko brings to the role a wealth of administrative experience and institutional knowledge, having served the University in several key capacities over the years.
Until his appointment, he was the substantive Director of the Human Resource Directorate, a position he has held since January 2021. His leadership in this role has been marked by strategic reforms and strengthened staff management systems.
His professional journey within the University also includes serving as Senior Assistant Registrar and Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat (2016–2020), as well as Assistant Registrar and Head of the Registrar’s Secretariat (2013–2016). Between 2011 and 2013, he demonstrated versatility in multiple roles, including Acting Head of Academic Affairs, Head of Student Records and Information Systems, and Transport Officer.
The University Council has expressed confidence in Dr. Todoko’s capacity to steer the administrative affairs of the University during this transitional period and has called on Management, Faculty, Staff, and Students to extend their full cooperation and support to him.
