HTU, E4Impact Launch International Certificate in Impact Entrepreneurship

Ho Technical University (HTU), in partnership with E4Impact, has launched the International Certificate in Impact Entrepreneurship (ICIE), a practical programme designed to equip young innovators with the skills to build sustainable businesses.

The launch, held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at HTU, marked the beginning of a four-month training initiative that offers participants 140 hours of hands-on learning, including bootcamps, pitch competitions, coaching sessions, and investor access. The programme, funded by the European Union, reflects strong international commitment to youth entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Honyenuga, urged participants to take advantage of the Government’s newly passed 24-hour economy initiative. He noted that the policy presents opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand operations, create value, and contribute to national economic growth. Prof. Honyenuga encouraged the youth to persevere, embrace failure as part of the entrepreneurial journey, and remain resilient in their pursuit of success.

Dr. Donatus Ayitey, HTU’s team lead for the programme, explained that the initiative goes beyond business longevity, stressing the importance of continuous learning, innovation, and adaptation in today’s dynamic environment. “Longevity doesn’t guarantee sustainability,” he said, highlighting the need for enterprises to evolve with changing times.

A lecturer and business coach at HTU, Dr. Harrison Adjimah, added that the programme will empower participants with practical skills, supported by regular mentorship. He noted that the training will allow entrepreneurs to test the viability of their ideas and gain exposure to scale innovative concepts into businesses with long-term social and economic impact.

Country Manager of E4Impact Ghana, Mr. Saviour Agortimezor, commended HTU for its commitment to the successful launch of the programme and expressed confidence that participants would make the most of the opportunity.

As part of the launch activities, some participants pitched their business ideas before a panel of judges, setting the stage for the programme’s competitive and practical approach to entrepreneurship training.
