Ho Technical University (HTU) has shared key lessons and best practices in grantsmanship with a visiting delegation from sister technical universities, as part of a strategic orientation programme aimed at strengthening institutional capacity for competitive grant acquisition and sustainable funding.
The two-day Grantsmanship Training Orientation Programme, held from November 3–4, 2025, at the Council Chamber, had in attendance, Prof. Edward Owusu, Director of Grants, Research and Development at Sunyani Technical University, and Prof. Efua Nkrumah, Director of Research, Innovation and Development at Takoradi Technical University.
Welcoming the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor of HTU, Prof. Ben Honyenuga, described the engagement as timely and strategic, noting that it was designed to foster inter-institutional collaboration and deepen understanding of structured fundraising approaches across technical universities.
Dr. Jennifer Adaletey, HTU’s Director of External Funds, led the technical sessions, sharing HTU’s framework for proposal development, donor engagement, and internal coordination. She also presented flagship projects and success stories that reflect HTU’s growing capacity in research-led development.
Sessions covered concept note preparation, compliance strategies, and the crafting of a university-wide fundraising roadmap.
Also participating in the engagements were Prof. Christopher Mensah, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Ms. Oyeba Akyea, Planning Officer, and Dr. Donatus Ayittey, Senior Lecturer, who contributed to discussions on aligning institutional priorities with funding opportunities and enhancing internal collaboration.
The orientation forms part of HTU’s strategic agenda to build capacity for sustainable development through innovation, collaboration, and structured resource mobilisation among technical universities.
