The Annual Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) officially opened on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Mawuli School in Ho, under the theme: “Building Strong & Sustainable Economies: Standards, Integrity, and Accountability.”
In a pleasant surprise, the Vice-Chancellor of Ho Technical University (HTU), Prof. Ben Quarshie Honyenuga, was invited to deliver a solidarity message. Prof. Honyenuga warmly welcomed ICAG members, including the many HTU alumni present, describing their strong turnout as a testament to the enduring bond and impact of the University.
He congratulated the organisers for a successful start to the conference and emphasized the critical role of polytechnics, now Technical Universities, in expanding and strengthening the accountancy profession in Ghana.

The Vice-Chancellor further charged delegates to be guided by HTU’s motto, “Adanu Nzau Kekeli” — Knowledge, Skill and Light — as a source of inspiration for deeper administrative responsibility and greater public sector accountability in advancing national development.
His remarks resonated with delegates, setting a tone of pride, unity, and purpose for the week-long celebration.
