HTU ICT Directorate Undertakes Week-Long Benchmarking Visit to KNUST

The Directorate of ICT (DICT) of Ho Technical University (HTU) has embarked on a week-long benchmarking visit to the University Information Technology Services (UITS) Directorate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The engagement, which ran from Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15, 2026, was designed to strengthen institutional capacity and foster knowledge sharing between the two universities.

The HTU delegation was led by the Acting Director, Mr. Mawuli Agbenorto, and included Mr. Samuel Agana, Head of IT Services and Special Projects; Mr. Joseph Aboagye; Mr. Godwin Kumador; Mr. Prince Ashong; Mr. Ephraim Adehenu; Mr. Mawuli Micurl Kennedy Cole, all Senior ICT Assistants, together with Miss Rosemond Dzormeku, Senior Administrative Assistant of the Directorate.

The purpose of the visit was to enable the HTU team to understudy operational structures, innovative systems, and best practices that have contributed to the growth and success of the KNUST UITS Directorate.

Welcoming the delegation, the KNUST UITS team led by Mr. Emmanuel Nii Okaidza Afful expressed readiness to share the Directorate’s success stories and explore collaborative opportunities that will advance technology-driven education in Ghana. Mr. Afful emphasized that rapid technological evolution makes collaboration and knowledge sharing among institutions essential, assuring the HTU team of KNUST’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at building efficient and sustainable IT systems.

Speaking on behalf of the visiting delegation, Mr. Agbenorto expressed appreciation to KNUST for the opportunity to learn from one of Ghana’s leading academic institutions. He noted that the insights and best practices gained during the week-long engagement would help HTU strengthen its ICT systems and improve service delivery across the institution.

The benchmarking exercise is expected to deepen cooperation between HTU and KNUST and contribute to the broader development of information technology systems within Ghana’s tertiary education sector.
