Ho Technical University (HTU) on Thursday, June 18, 2026, welcomed an eight-member delegation from Baylor University, United States of America, as part of efforts to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and international partnership.
The delegation was led by Mr. Philip Agbeko, Chief Executive Officer of Hiltop Global Group, an international education and consulting organization that facilitates academic partnerships, global engagement, and capacity-building initiatives between institutions across different countries. Mr. Agbeko, who is also a Fulbright Specialist, indicated that the visit was intended to create opportunities for HTU to establish connections with Baylor University, while identifying areas of mutual interest for future collaboration.
Welcoming the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, expressed appreciation to Mr. Agbeko for his continuous efforts in creating international opportunities for the University. He provided an overview of the institution’s history, growth, academic programmes, research achievements, infrastructure, and strategic developments.

He noted that the University’s commitment to practical education, innovation, industry engagement, and global competitiveness aligns with the objectives of prospective international partners, positioning HTU as a suitable institution for collaborative initiatives.
Dr. Eduardo Contreras, Vice Provost for Global Engagement at Baylor University , highlighted the importance of strengthening international academic networks and fostering cross-cultural learning experiences. He highlighted potential areas of collaboration, including student and faculty exchange programmes, study abroad opportunities, joint research activities, and other forms of academic cooperation that would enhance teaching, learning, and global exposure for both institutions.

Also contributing to the discussions were Dr. Adé Oyedijo and Dr. Marilyn Anderson Rhames of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. They indicated that several of the proposed areas of collaboration complement existing programmes currently being implemented at Baylor University. They encouraged HTU to consider developing innovative academic programmes and learning opportunities that would attract international students and support future study-abroad engagements.
The meeting provided a platform for both institutions to exchange ideas and identify pathways for building sustainable partnerships that would promote academic excellence, research collaboration, and global engagement.
The engagement concluded with a guided tour of the University’s facilities and campus, giving the delegation first-hand insight into HTU’s learning environment, infrastructure, and capacity to support international collaborations.
