HTU Partners Praise Export to Boost Student Training and Employability

Ho Technical University (HTU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Praise Export Services Ltd., a diversified Ghanaian company engaged in agriculture, agro‑processing, export, hospitality services, and eco‑tourism.

The brief ceremony took place on Monday, August 17, 2026, and marked a significant step in advancing industry‑academic collaboration.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, who signed on behalf of the University, emphasized that the partnership advances HTU’s collaboration agenda, aimed at securing mutual benefits with industry partners. He commended the initiative of Praise Export Services Ltd., describing the company as holistic and diversified, and underscored that the collaboration will enhance student training.

“Our students now embark on a full semester industrial attachment, and through this partnership, they will be placed at your companies to learn and work with you,” Prof. Honyenuga stated.

He also stressed that the agreement would broaden opportunities for students and staff in industrial tours, internships, national service placements, and professional career development programmes. He described the partnership as a strategic step that will strengthen HTU’s industry linkages and expand the scope of experiential learning.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Praise Export Services Ltd., Mr. Godwin Edem Adordie, expressed joy at the collaboration, noting that it fulfilled a long‑held dream. He recalled his own training within the technical and polytechnic system, as well as his teaching experience at HTU when it was a technical institute.

“It has always been my dream to collaborate with institutions like HTU to bridge the industry‑academic gap,” Mr. Adordie remarked. He assured that the company’s facilities in Accra and at the Praise City Eco‑tourism Park, popularly known as ‘Point & Kill’, in Ho, remain open to receive both faculty and students. He stressed that these facilities provide not only avenues for learning but also employment opportunities.

He further recalled that Praise Export Services Ltd. had previously donated an industrial dryer to HTU, pledging continued support for the University’s growth and innovation.

The ceremony was duly witnessed by Dr. Michael T.K. Todoko, Acting Registrar of HTU, and Mr. Godwin Edem Afeawo, Manager of Praise City, who endorsed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. Present also were the Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Mensah, together with other management members and officials of the University, including the Business Development Officer, Dr. Faustin Adoku.

This partnership is expected to strengthen student employability, deepen industry-academic collaboration, and enhance practical training for HTU students, while also exposing them to Ghana’s growing agro-processing sector and the opportunities within eco-tourism.
