HTU MANAGEMENT PAYS COURTESY CALL ON VOLTA REGIONAL MINISTER

The Management Team of the University, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, on Monday, 17th February 2025.

During the meeting, Prof. Honyenuga congratulated Hon. Gunu on his appointment and emphasized the University’s commitment to supporting the Minister’s vision for the Volta Region’s progress. He highlighted challenges facing the University, including infrastructure deficits and stalled GETFund projects, seeking the Minister’s assistance in addressing them.

The minister welcomed the HTU Management Team and expressed appreciation for the University’s advancements under Prof. Honyenuga’s leadership. He proposed a partnership to establish a Pilot Training School in Ho, to enhance vocational training opportunities and benefiting the local community.

He also assured the team of the government’s commitment to higher education and pledged to collaborate with the University to address challenges and promote development.

The meeting concluded positively, with both parties committing to the development and progress of the Volta Region and the nation.

Other members of the delegation included, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Mensah, Registrar, Dr. Christopher Amehoe, Director of Finance, Mr. Augustine Kwame Owusu, Director of Works and Physical Development, Mr. Nicholas Awagah, and Mr. Magnus Akaba, Assistant Registrar.
