HTU CONCLUDES FULBRIGHT SPECIALIST PROGRAMME

The University has successfully concluded the Fulbright Specialist Programme, following a final engagement between the facilitator, Mr. Philip Agbeko, and the University Management on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

The engagement highlighted key insights from the assessment, considering institutional needs and gaps across various departments and staff levels.

In his presentation, Mr. Agbeko detailed analysis of the challenges identified and provided strategic recommendations on how to address them. His proposals included potential solutions, international collaborations with partner institutions, and access to online resources to bridge the identified gaps. His three-week cross-sectional interaction with the University, included capacity-building sessions for strategic approaches to interventions.

Ms. Naa Ayorkor Koney, Operational Manager at IRECOP, added that IRECOP has the potential to support HTU’s long-term development goals, particularly in sustainable infrastructural development.

The Registrar, Dr. Christopher Amehoe, expressed appreciation for Mr. Agbeko’s contributions, acknowledging the significance of the assessment in identifying institutional gaps. He emphasised the University’s commitment to consider the recommendations made for improved implementations.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Mensah, also commended the programme and stressed the importance of leveraging the international partnerships recommended by Mr. Agbeko, noting that while some of the identified gaps were already known to the University, efforts were being made to address them.

He quickly added that insights provided would further guide HTU’s strategic initiatives.Public Affairs
