Management of the University on Monday, August 31, 2026, hosted a high‑level monitoring team in preparation for the Automotive Service Excellence and Youth Empowerment (ASEYE) Project.
The delegation, comprising representatives from Plan International Ghana, the Plan International Korea National Office, Hyundai Motor Company, and KOICA, engaged with university leadership and stakeholders to assess readiness and strengthen collaboration.
Led by Nii Tackie Otoo, Project Manager of the ASEYE Project, the team’s discussions focused on aligning the initiative’s vision with Ghana’s future needs in automotive skills development and youth empowerment. The visit underscored the partners’ commitment to ensuring ASEYE delivers practical training, industry‑relevant expertise, and sustainable opportunities for young people.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, reaffirmed the University’s preparedness for the ASEYE Centre, stressing its role in equipping young people with skills in electric vehicle (EV) technology. He noted that the centre will empower students with cutting‑edge automotive expertise while positioning HTU as a leading hub for applied research and innovation in Ghana’s automotive industry.
The ASEYE Project will be officially launched on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Accra. The engagement at HTU highlighted a united front in advancing technical education and creating pathways for Ghanaian youth to thrive in the automotive sector.
