HTU SRC ARMY CADET CORPS RETAINS DRILL CHAMPIONSHIP AT 10TH TERTIARY CADET CORPS CONGRESS

Ho Technical University (HTU) has once again demonstrated excellence in discipline and precision after emerging winners of the Drill Competition at the 10th Tertiary Cadet Corps Congress held at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) on Wednesdayay June 25, 2026  to Saturday, June 28 2026. 

The four-day event brought together cadet corps from tertiary institutions across Ghana, including Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Accra Technical University (ATU) , the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), and Ho Technical University. 

HTU’s SRC Army Cadet Corps successfully defended its title with an outstanding drill performance, making it the second consecutive year the University has won the championship, having also emerged victorious when it hosted the previous edition. The impressive display of discipline, coordination, precision marching and command execution earned the team the overall top position. The University of Education, Winneba placed second, while Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology secured third place.

Speaking on the achievement, the Ag. Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Baidenger Twumasi ,congratulated the cadet for their dedication, resilience and exemplary performance throughout the competition. He commended the trainers for their dedication, discipline and relentless efforts in grooming the cadet, describing their mentorship and commitment as key factors behind the team’s second consecutive championship.

Beyond the drill competition, participants engaged in a variety of activities designed to foster camaraderie, leadership and physical fitness. These included sporting competitions, team-building exercises, social interactions and networking sessions. 

HTU’s latest triumph further cements the University’s growing reputation in cadet training and leadership development among tertiary institutions in Ghana. The event was attended by staff of HTU and members of the SRC, who rallied behind the cadet and cheered them on throughout the competition.
