HTU DoSFund Board Inaugurated; VC Appeals for Greater Support to Needy Students

The Governing Board of the Ho Technical University (HTU) Dean of Students Affairs Foundation (DoSFund) was inaugurated on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, reinforcing the University’s commitment to supporting financially distressed students.

The swearing‑in ceremony was conducted by the University’s Legal Officer, Dorothy Akortsu, Esq, in line with the Constitution of the Fund.

The Governing Board is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, with membership comprising the Registrar, Dr. Michael T.K. Todoko; Director of Finance, Mr. Augustine Kwame Owusu; Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Baidenger Twumasi; Alumni Representative, Ms. Juliet Nugble; SRC President, Mr. Emmanuel Y. Akpabli; Academic Board Representative, Dr. Eric Adzivor; and Students’ Affairs Officer, Ms. Salomey M. Takuh, who serves as Secretary.
Other officers joining the Board in its meetings include the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Mensah; Guidance and Counselling Officer, Dr. Sedem Amedome; Gender Advocacy & Inclusion Officer, Dr. Liticia Effah-Manu; and University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Agbezuge.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor recalled that the DoSFund was established thirteen years ago when he served as Dean of Students, with the objective of assisting underprivileged students in their academic pursuits. He noted that hundreds of students have benefitted from the Fund over the years, completing their programmes through financial support.

He expressed appreciation to members for accepting their roles, noting that the inauguration ushers the Board into “serious business.” He emphasized the need to enhance fund mobilization to support more students.

“Many students may have dropped out of school because they lacked the financial support needed to continue their education,” Prof. Honyenuga stated, appealing to alumni, corporate bodies, philanthropists, and other stakeholders to contribute generously to ensure that no qualified student is denied higher education due to financial hardship.

The ceremony was witnessed by some Deans and Directors.
