The Ho Technical University family came together in worship and thanksgiving on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the G.M. Afeti Auditorium to open the 2025/2026 academic year with a Non-Denominational Service held under the theme “All Things Are Possible to God.”
The occasion was historic, serving as the first official worship experience for fresh students and the last opening service for Registrar, Dr. Christopher Amehoe, who will retire at the end of March 2026 after years of dedicated service to the University.

University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Agbezuge, delivered a heartfelt sermon urging the community to put God first in all things. Drawing on personal testimonies, he emphasized that faith, discipline, and resilience open doors to unexpected opportunities, assuring students that with God, success is attainable.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Honyenuga, reinforced the message of faith with a strong call to integrity, discipline, and sustainability. He stressed zero tolerance for examination malpractice, warning that dishonesty could derail future leadership opportunities. He also celebrated HTU’s recognition as Ghana’s number one sustainable campus and the second-best in West Africa, urging students to protect the university’s green environment and uphold its reputation.

The service featured uplifting music ministration from the University Choir, the SRC Regimental Band, the Christian Fellowship Praise and Worship Team, and the Pax Choir of the HTU Catholic Chaplaincy, which together enriched the worship experience. Prayers were offered for the University’s management and staff, for student success, and for the continued growth of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor further reminded students to register promptly, use resources responsibly, and take part in various university events.
The ceremony concluded with blessings for a fruitful semester, affirming that with faith, discipline, and hard work, the HTU community will continue to rise to greater heights.
