HTU COUNCIL ELEVATES FIVE SENIOR LECTURERS TO PROFESSORIAL RANK

The Council of Ho Technical University has elevated five Senior Lecturers to the rank of Associate Professor, in recognition of their distinguished contributions to teaching, research, and community service. 

The announcement was contained in a notice signed by Dr. Christopher K. Amehoe, Registrar and Secretary to Council, following the Council’s 119th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025

The Newly Promoted Associate Professors are;

Prof. Baidenger Agyekum Twumasi; Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D in Electronic Science and Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology, China, and currently serves as Ag. Dean of Student Affairs. 


Prof. Courage Sedem Dzah, of the  Department of Food Science and Technology, under the Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology. He obtained his Ph.D in Food Science and Engineering from Jiangsu University, China, and was the immediate Head of the Food Science & Department. He currently head and Electrical/Electronic Engineering Department.

Prof. Richard Selase Gbadegbe; Department of Industrial Art, Faculty of Art and Design. A specialist in African Art and Culture with a Ph.D from KNUST, he has served as Head of Department and Dean of Faculty, and continues to lead Industrial Art Depart. 

Prof. Deodat Emilson Adenutsi; Department of Accounting and Finance, HTU Business School. He holds a Ph.D in Business Management from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and has served as Head of Department and Vice-Dean of the Business School. 

Prof. John Coker Ayimah; Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology. With a Ph.D in Statistics from the University of Ghana, he has risen through the ranks since 2006 and currently heads the Department of Computer Science. 


The notice issued by the Registrar, explained that the promotions followed rigorous external assessment of the scholars’ publications, which were adjudged to meet international standards. 
“Council congratulates Management of the University for creating an enabling academic environment and research culture which has resulted in an appreciable number of faculty attaining professorial rank,” he stated. “We further congratulate the new Associate Professors on this remarkable achievement in their academic careers.” 
The Council further noted that the promotions enhance the University’s reputation locally and internationally, and reflect its commitment to academic excellence.
