HEAD OF HTU SECURITY PREACHES PERSONAL SAFETY AT AFRICAN LAW STUDENTS COMFAB

Assistant Registrar and Head of Security at Ho Technical University, WO1 (Rtd) Zakaria Issifu, has called on African youth to prioritise personal and national security as a foundation for development.

He made the call during the closing session of the 5th Continental Conference of the Federation of African Law Students (FALAS), held at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

WO1 Issifu, a retired Warrant Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces, emphasised that ideals such as Pan-Africanism, justice, and youth leadership can only thrive in an environment of safety and stability. “Security supersedes all,” he stated, adding that “without safety, there can be no progress, no education, and no peace.”

He urged law students across the continent to view security as a shared civic duty, not the sole responsibility of state institutions.

WO1 Issifu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with the Study of Religion from the University of Ghana, an MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from KNUST, and an LLB from MountCrest University College.

He also possesses a postgraduate certificate in Forensics, Security Management, and Psychology from Wisconsin International University College, and is currently pursuing an LLM at the University of Ghana School of Law.
