HTU MATRICULATES 7TH BATCH OF NAVTRAC STUDENTS

Ho Technical University (HTU) and the Supply and Application School of the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, has matriculated   its new batch of students of the SAS.

The matriculation, which marked another milestone in the growing collaboration between HTU and NAVTRAC saw 97 military personnel enrolling for Certificate and diploma programmes in logistics and Supply, Hospitality Management and Secretaryship and Management Studies.

The students were admitted into the HTU Business School and the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology. The Deans of both faculties were present to formally present the matriculants to the Vice-Chancellor.

Commodore James Adongo Agambire, Flag Officer Commanding NAVTRAC, welcomed the new students and described the partnership with HTU as a strategic investment in human resource development. He urged the matriculants to uphold discipline and teamwork, stressing that their academic training would directly impact the operational efficiency of the Armed Forces.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, who officially admitted the students into the University, reflected on the significance of the occasion, stating that the occasion is remarkable as it shows the continuous progress and achievement of the collaborative programme between HTU and the Ghana Navy

He added that that through specialised programmes, we have equipped naval personnel with essential skills that enhance both their service to the nation and their contributions to Ghana’s economic growth.”

He added that HTU was working to expand its academic offerings at NAVTRAC to include engineering, ICT, and Impact Entrepreneurship, in line with the evolving needs of the Armed Forces and the country.

He further urged them to commit themselves to balancing their military career with their academic pursuits. “This commitment can be demanding, but I urge you to view these challenges as stepping stones for personal growth”

He further encouraged them to be team players and seek support from their peers as it is vital for sailing through difficulties.

The event was attended by the Registrar, who administered the matriculation oath to the matriculants. Others were senior officers of the University including Directors, Deans and Heads of Departments.  

Also, present were officers and other officials of the Supply Application School of NAVTRAC.
