MANAGEMENT ENFORCES ‘NO REGISTRATION, NO EXAMS’ POLICY

Management of Ho Technical University (HTU) has issued a final 24-hour ultimatum to students who are yet to complete their registration for the End-of-Semester Examinations to do so immediately.

Speaking during the End-of-Semester Closing Service on Sunday, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Honyenuga reaffirmed the University’s commitment to enforcing its ‘No Registration, No Exams’ policy as stipulated in the HTU Statutes and Students’ Handbook.

He announced that students who fail to register by 5:00 PM on Monday, August 11, 2025, will be barred from participating in the examinations, which commence on Saturday, August 16. He stressed that non-compliant students will be required to formally defer their academic programmes, in accordance with university rules.

“This is not a matter of negotiation. The policy is clear, and it will be enforced without exception,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.

Expressing deep concern, Prof. Honyenuga singled out some first-year students who, despite benefiting from the government’s ‘No Fee Stress’ grant, have failed to pay the remaining fees and complete registration. He described their conduct as disappointing and warned that such students would not be spared during the exams.

“It is shocking that students who have received financial support still choose to disregard their obligations. They must understand that this University stands for discipline and accountability,” he added.

He therefore urged all affected students to take advantage of this final opportunity to settle their fees in full — including SRC dues — and regularize their academic status.

Following the Vice-Chancellor’s directive, the Directorate of Academic Affairs has formally issued a notice confirming the 24-hour extension. The Directorate further announced that a final list of eligible students to sit the second semester examinations will be published by Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
