NEW NAVTRAC FOC VISITS HTU TO DEEPEN EXISTING COLLABORATION

The newly appointed Flag Officer Commanding the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) at Nutekpor, Commodore James Adongo Agambire, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, paid a courtesy call on the Management of Ho Technical University (HTU) to reaffirm collaboration between the two institutions.

The visit placed renewed emphasis on the academic collaboration between HTU and the Supply Application School of NAVTRAC, aimed at advancing military academic training through specialized modules and joint certification programmes.

HTU has been pivotal in delivering certificate and diploma programmes for NAVTRAC-SAS, supporting the capacity-building of naval and other military personnel. This partnership, initiated in 2018, was formalized in June 2023 through a Memorandum of Understanding.

Commodore Agambire, who recently took command, said institutional engagement remained critical to strengthening strategic partnerships. He described HTU as a dependable academic partner and expressed commitment to expanding cooperation, especially in building the knowledge base of Ghana Armed Forces personnel.

Welcoming the delegation, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Mensah, lauded the initiative and stressed the importance of leadership continuity in nurturing institutional ties. Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, he assured the FOC of HTU’s unwavering support for the partnership and pledged further collaboration.

The visit ended with an exchange of symbolic gifts, marking mutual respect and shared commitment. Both parties reaffirmed their resolve to maintain regular interaction to ensure that the training programme responds to evolving military needs.

Also present were the Registrar, Dr. Christopher Amehoe, Directors, and Deans of the University. The FOC’s entourage included senior NAVTRAC officers and the Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho, Lt. Col. Jalali Din Ibrahim.
