HTU TOPS TECHNICAL UNIVERSITIES; NAMED AMONG TOP 10 UNIVERSITIES IN GHANA

Ho Technical University (HTU) has once again cemented its position as the number one technical university in Ghana. This achievement positions HTU as the leader among technical universities in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.

The prestigious ranking evaluates universities worldwide based on key areas such as teaching, research, environment, quality, industry engagement, international outlook, and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

HTU earned a spot among the top five universities for Quality Education. Additionally, in assessing Decent Work and Economic Growth, the ranking body recognized HTU as the second-best university among all universities in Ghana. These recognitions testify to HTU’s growing reputation for excellence in applied sciences, innovation, and practical education delivery.

The second position for SDG 8 speaks to the fact that HTU nurtures and promotes a progressive environment for its faculty and staff to achieve personal and professional growth. In addition to being ranked first among technical universities, HTU also ranked among the top 10 universities in Ghana, reflecting the institution’s continuous expansion for national and international growth.

HTU’s rise in global rankings reaffirms its strategic focus on producing industry-ready graduates while promoting sustainability, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development.

According to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, these rankings manifest the commitments of leadership and the diligence of faculty, staff, and students, placing the University on a high international pedestal for meaningful contributions in various sectors and industries globally.

Expressing gratitude for stakeholders’ support, Prof. Honyenuga congratulated everyone for their hard work over the years. He urged all to strive further for continuous upward growth in these SDG areas and beyond. “Let’s be relentless in pursuing excellence, knowing that the sky can even be our starting point; we can rise beyond the horizon,” he concluded.
