On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the University community came together to hold a pre-burial service for the late Ms. Abigail Naa Konadu Quarshie, a dedicated lecturer in the Department of Management Sciences.
The solemn Ceremony, held at the G.M. Afeti auditorium, was marked by heartfelt tributes and renditions by the University Choir. The service brought together Management, faculty, staff, students, and family members to celebrate Ms. Quarshie’s life and legacy.
Dr. Eli Atatsi, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management Sciences, delivered a tribute on behalf of the University. She highlighted Ms. Quarshie’s contributions to the University, describing her as a dedicated teacher, researcher, and a great mentor to students.
The Chairman of the HTU Chapter of the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG), Dr. Stanley Glate, also paid tribute to the late lecturer. He described her as a beacon of inspiration, a symbol of dedication, and a vibrant member of TUTAG.
Rev. Fr. Sylvester Agbezuger, the University Chaplain, offered words of exhortation, reminding the gathering of the inevitability of accountability before God. He urged all to strive for excellence and maintain a spirit of gratitude.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga shared his reflections on Ms. Quarshie’s life, recalling her hopeful nature and commitment to the university. He extended condolences to her family, colleagues, and students.
Ms. Abigail Naa Konadu Quarshie will be laid to rest on Friday, December 6, 2024, in Accra, Greater Accra Region.
