FORMER SRC VICE-PREZ. SEEKS MANAGEMENT’S BLESSINGS FOR MP AMBITION

Mr. Mawulorm Kwame Klutse, an Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Ho Central, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor and Management of the University on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. As a proud alumnus and former SRC Vice-President, Mr. Klutse sought the University’s blessings for his candidacy in the December 2024 General Elections.

During his interaction with Management, he reflected on his days at the University as a student leader, noting that the experience had prepared him for his current political aspirations. “HTU has made a lot of impact on many young people, including myself, within the constituency, and it is only prudent for me to come back home to seek the blessing of the community that has nurtured my leadership skills on this new journey of representing the people of Ho Central in the next Parliament,” he stated, applauding the progress made by the University over the years.

The former student leader pledged to foster all-inclusive leadership, sharing his vision for collaboration. This includes enhancing HTU’s global presence through exchange opportunities with international institutions, empowering young people with practical skills acquisition, lobbying for teaching and learning logistics to enhance research and development, and addressing students’ accommodation issues with investors’ support.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Honyenuga applauded the alumnus for his ambition and encouraged him to put in the hard work to achieve success. He acknowledged Klutse’s maturity from his SRC executive experience and advised him to run a clean campaign, sell his message to constituents, and remain guided by HTU’s virtues. He also expressed the University’s openness to partnerships to advance its mandate.

The Independent Parliamentary candidate was accompanied by members of his campaign team. Present on the University side were the Pro-VC, Registrar, and other Directors.
