A three-day exhibition showcasing the scholarly works of Professor Christopher Mensah opened on Monday, ahead of his delivery of the University’s second Inaugural Lecture.
Organised by the University’s Nunya Library and hosted at the STAR-C block, the exhibition was launched with a welcome address by the Acting Head of Library Services, Dr. Hannatu Abue Kugblenu-Mahama. She traced Prof. Mensah’s academic journey from his entry as an instructor in 2008, through his promotion to Associate Professor in 2022, culminating in his elevation to full Professor of Tourism and Hospitality Management in March 2025.
She commended his extensive research portfolio of more than 60 publications spanning tourism, hospitality, academic integrity, and human resource management.

Opening the exhibition, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ben Q. Honyenuga, expressed pride in celebrating internal academic excellence. He noted that the exhibition demonstrates the rigor and validity underpinning Prof. Mensah’s professorship, while underscoring the importance of mentorship, resilience, and maintaining academic standards within HTU. He further extolled the work ethic of Prof. Mensah, who also serves as the University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
Dr. Melody Enyonam Appietu, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, provided an overview of the exhibited works. She outlined five thematic areas of Prof. Mensah’s research: events and festivals; student integrity and academic cheating; student internships; hotel employee stress and psychological well-being; and COVID-19-related impact studies.

She highlighted his scholarly impact, citing 1,428 Google Scholar citations, an h-index of 22, an i10-index of 39, and over 40,000 reads and downloads on ResearchGate.
Prof. Mensah, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to University management, the Nunya Library team, his collaborators, and all present. He reflected on the years of dedication represented in the exhibition and emphasized the role of mentorship and collaboration in academic growth. He encouraged emerging scholars to remain committed to research and scholarly excellence.

In attendance were University management, including the Acting Registrar, Dr. Michael Todoko, as well as faculty and staff, who joined to celebrate the milestone.
The exhibition, running for three days at the STAR-C block, sets the stage for Prof. Mensah’s Inaugural Lecture scheduled for Wednesday, 21st October 2026, at the G.M. Afeti Auditorium.
