Management Organises Two-Day Orientation for Newly Appointed Staff

Management of Ho Technical University has organised a two-day orientation for newly appointed staff of the University. The programme, held from Wednesday, September 16 to Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the F. O. Kwami Council Chamber, brought together newly appointed faculty and staff as part of efforts to facilitate their smooth integration into the University community.

Opening the training, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga, welcomed the new staff and introduced them to the University’s organisational structure. He explained that the institution operates on collaboration, open feedback and mutual understanding, with the Vice-Chancellor providing strategic leadership towards the achievement of the University’s goals.

Prof. Honyenuga further urged the newly appointed staff to align their work with the University’s strategic plan, emphasising that its vision was an institutional one rather than the creation of an individual. He encouraged them to embrace the University’s goal of becoming a global hub for practical education, innovation and sustainable development, while immersing themselves in its culture and values.

He also stressed the importance of integrity and excellence in the discharge of their duties, noting that staff had a responsibility to contribute to producing graduates who were not only technically proficient but also upheld the high standards expected of the University.

The two-day programme featured sessions on Scheme of Service for staff of Technical Universities, financial regulations and procedures, the University Statutes, health and wellbeing, conditions of service, core duties of lecturers, code of conduct, library services, staff portal and related issues.

Other facilitators included the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, the Ag. Registrar, the Director of Finance, the Director of Human Resource, the Medical Director, the Legal Officer, the Ag. University Librarian and the Ag. Director of ICT, among other senior officials.
