Ho Technical University (HTU) on Monday, June 15, 2026, hosted the Deputy Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ghana, H.E. Aviel Avraham, in a courtesy visit.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Joseph Appiah-Dophyne, Head of Media at the Embassy. Welcoming the envoy, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Quarshie Honyenuga, expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador, noting that HTU was the only Technical University from Ghana invited to join selected West African universities on a recent Vice-Chancellors’ delegation to Israel.
The Ambassador underscored Israel’s openness to building connections and partnerships, describing Israel as a “true partner” to institutions like HTU.


He highlighted opportunities available through the MASHAV programme, Israel’s international development cooperation initiative, which offers training and coordination programmes. He assured that the Embassy will continue to share these opportunities for Ghanaian institutions.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Mensah, who represented the Vice-Chancellor in November last year, recalled the fruitful engagements during his visit to Israel.
He also expressed optimism that the collaboration will create new avenues for academic exchange, training, and institutional growth.
Present at the meeting were the Ag. Registrar, Dr. Michael Todoko and other Management members, the Dean of International Programmes, Prof. Eli Atatsi, deans and directors.
