The Ho Technical University (HTU) delegation to the 4th Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities of Ghana (ARCTUG 2026) on June 3, 2026 formally presented their awards to University Management upon return from Takoradi.
Led by Prof. Kenneth Fafa Egbadzor, Director of Research and Innovation, the team handed over the Best Research Paper Award and the Second Runner-up Best TU Innovator Award to the Vice-Chancellor and his leadership team.
Prof. Egbadzor briefed Management on the University’s active participation, noting the scholarly paper authored and presented by Ernest Edem Tulasi and Bright Ahilijah of the Department of Marketing, which earned the coveted Best Paper recognition in Applied Sciences, Health Technologies and Digital Integration.
He further highlighted the innovative project that secured HTU’s Second Runner-up Award in the exhibitions category: Smart Solar+Water and Quartz-Powered AI Piezoelectric Humidifier for Mushroom Cultivation.
This project was developed by OPK and the HTU Robotic Team, demonstrating the University’s ingenuity in addressing practical challenges through applied technology.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ben Honyenuga commended the delegation for their outstanding performance, describing the honours as a vote of confidence in HTU’s research and innovation capacity. He noted that, as the first host of the ARCTUG, HTU had set a standard over the years and encouraged the University community to sustain the momentum and begin preparations for the next ARCTUG with renewed commitment.
He added that, these awards only reinforced HTU’s collective pride in its growing reputation as a leader in applied research and innovation.
Present at the ceremony were the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Mensah, the Acting Registrar, Dr. Michael Todoko, together with other Deans and Directors, who joined in celebrating the delegation’s success.
