HTU HONOURED AT 2025 NATIONAL TOURISM AWARDS

Ho Technical University (HTU) has once again demonstrated its leadership in tourism education, receiving the Tourism Programme Development of the Year – Academia award at the National Tourism Awards 2025 – Honorary Edition held on November 14, 2025 in Accra.

The honorary award, presented by the Ghana Tourism Authority and signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, recognises HTU’s outstanding contribution to tourism education, programme innovation, and commitment to equipping students with practical skills to drive Ghana’s tourism industry.

On Monday, November 24, 2025, Prof. Emmanuel Letsyo, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, and Dr. Otilia Adzinyo, Head of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management — who represented the University at the ceremony, formally presented the award to the Vice‑Chancellor, Prof. Ben Honyenuga and his Management team.

University leadership expressed appreciation for the national recognition and pledged to expand tourism programmes, strengthen collaborations, and promote sustainable initiatives.

This honour further cements HTU’s reputation as a centre of excellence in technical and vocational education, and a proud contributor to Ghana’s socio‑economic transformation.
