Alumni Banner

Greetings from Ho Technical University, Alumni Relations Office.

At the time of its founding in 1968, HTU enjoyed full funding by the government of the day. Over the years however, such funding has decreased significantly making it extremely difficult for Management to ensure that delivering our Mission of training highly competent human resource to the highest level possible through career-focused education, skills training and research, in partnership with stakeholders is not compromised.

Management has under the leadership of the Interim Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. E.K. Sakyi established an Alumni Relations Office, under the Office of the Registrar. The ARO started with effect from 1st March, 2017 after the Interim Registrar has in consultation with the Interim Vice Chancellor transferred an Assistant Registrar to assume the post as the Alumni Relations Officer and to take the initiative in setting up the Office under the supervision of the Registrar.

Apart from providing the necessary administrative support for the realization of the ARO, the Alumni Relations Officer and therefore the Office performs the following specific functions:

  • Develop strategies to assist the University in building a database of its alumni for the purpose of facilitating the University’s relationship with them.
  • Liaise with the University’s FM Station for a platform to be created for prominent alumni of the institution to share their experiences and advice with the University Community, especially, the students;
  • Liaise between Management and the Alumni Association to institute an Annual Alumni Lecture as part of HTU’s institutional lectures;
  • Initiate the publication of a newsletter to facilitate communication between the University and its alumni and update Management on the achievements of alumni of the institution for recognition and publicity.
  • Liaise with Management and the Alumni Association to facilitate arrangements for Annual General Meetings (Congress) of Alumni.
  • Promote Alumni Fund-Raising activities in support of the development of the University.
  • Represent the University at all Alumni meetings and functions and submit reports to the Registrar.
  • Any other duties related to Alumni Relations that may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor or his representative.

The Alumni Relations Office is responsible for driving the University’s vision for making its alumni strategic stakeholders in the development of the institution. The office serves as the Liaison between the University and its Alumni. As the Liaison Office, the ARO facilitates the sharing of information and communication between the University and its Alumni in collaboration with the Alumni Association.

It is our strong belief that HTU Alumni are not only stakeholders in our history, but partners in our future success.
The Office of Alumni Relations is to add value to your alumni experience! We pledge to foster the HTU spirit and keep you updated on happenings at the HTU.

To support your Alma Mata

HTUMoMoBanner Update

The Alumni Relations Office is currently working hand in hand with the Alumni Association to help you remain in contact with the University and each other and to provide you with valuable services and information about your Alma Mata. However, there are a number of city based alumni groups with which you might want to link up with. For example, we have HTU Campus Chapter, Accra Alumni Chapter and a special group known as HOTEPOOSA. Efforts are being made to organize alumni groups on year group, regional and hall basis.
You may have finished studying at Ho Technical University but your involvement with the University does not end here! You are an automatic member of the Ho Technical University Alumni Association (HTUAlumni). This is an organization for all our former students from the Institute, Polytechnic and now Technical University. You may contact the national executives of the Alumni Association for registration or further information.
