The Department emphasises and encourages close working relationship with industry. In this regard, attention is given to practical training towards equipping students in Power Systems, Electronics and Telecommunications, as well as Micro-processors and Control Systems Engineering. To complement the technical training of every student, courses in entrepreneurship and business management skills are taken.

Objectives

  • To train students on the concepts and principles of Electricity/Electronics, Instruments & Measurements, Control Theory & Practice, Telecommunications, the Computer & the concepts of Power in both theory and applications.
  • To enable students acquire techniques in the use of tools, instruments and equipment.
  • To help students develop skills in design, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • To help students prepare layout, install and commission industrial equipment and offer electrical/electronic engineering services.
  • To train the students to be formidable entrepreneurs in their chosen careers.
