The Department runs HND-Industrial Art in five different options namely: Graphic Design, Ceramics, Sculpture, Painting and Textiles. It trains creative and innovative artists with theoretical and practical skills in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains for national development.

Objectives

  • To prepare students for employment in the Art industries.
  • To enable students use their creative abilities, knowledge, skills and attitudes in the production of quality artifacts in communication design, textiles, painting, ceramics, sculpture and embroidery using local materials.
  • To help students acquire skills and competencies in the development of local materials and resources into finished goods.
  • To assist students develop indigenous art technologies in aesthetics, beliefs, values and attitudes.
